Vitamin D Reduces Risk of Heart Disease and Diabetes 27 April 2010

A meta-analysis published in the March 2010 edition of the journal Maturitas has found that people maintaining high levels of vitamin D naturally with sunlight and oily fish have a 33% decreased risk of heart disease, a 55% decreased risk of type 2 diabetes and a 51% decreased risk of heart disease.

Take home message: the benefits of maintaining a high level of vitamin D are now clear. I continue to maintain that vitamin D is best from nature- sunlight and fermented cod liver oil. When we get nutrients from nature we get all the other co-factors to make them work properly and safely. Fermented cod liver is now available from my clinic.
