Laird Hamilton Summarises the Key Components of my Works Mission Statement. 26 August 2010

Laird Hamilton is one of the worlds most famous and enduring big wave surfers. His interview in the August 2009 edition of the British GQ magazine is a great summary of the core values and message of my work. His personal philosophy:

  1. Eat for energy, not for entertainment.

That doesn’t mean food shouldn’t be pleasurable, just make sure you give your body good stuff. Make quality a priority; buy organic, buy fresh and where possible buy natural foods. You can indulge every now and again. Just make sure you don’t overdo it.

  1. I don’t train for my sport, I train for life.

I don’t have an off-season. Everything I do is fun, that’s how I keep my motivation. I train by doing the things that will help me do what I enjoy.

  1. Real men do yoga

Not only is it great for the mind and calms the brain, it is also a great work-out. It builds strength and flexibility. If you think its for wimps, remember this: Genghis Khans warriors did 1000 sun salutations.
