High Vitamin D Levels Improve Prognosis in Prostate Cancer 26 August 2010
A study published in the February 2009 edition of the British Journal of Cancer has found the risk of dying of prostate cancer is reduced by 80% in men with high levels of vitamin D. This was a 4 year study of 160 men.
Take home message: get your vitamin D levels checked with a 25-hydroxyvitamin D assay. If your levels are below 100, supplement with 5000IU vitamin D/day and get some sun.
