HCG Protocol For Weight Loss Now Available 26 August 2010
I have now commenced using my version of Dr ATW Simeons HCG weight loss protocol. This protocol is designed to be used by people who have been unsuccessful in losing weight despite eating well, exercising and having apparently normal thyroid function. It utilises a very low calorie diet combined with daily injections of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin). HCG is the pregnancy hormone and causes the hypothalamus of the brain to trigger the release of fat from fat stores. This means that despite being on a very low calorie diet, you still feel good with lots of energy and no hunger. Various versions have been used overseas with great success since the 1950’s.
Please note that the hCG protocol for weight loss is controversial. Despite Dr Simeons extensive success and experience, one study was able to reproduce his results while another study found the hCG protocol no more effective than placebo.
On one hand, my protocol is based on that developed by Dr Roby Mitchell and uses an intra-nasal preparation of hCG devised by myself and an Australian compounding pharmacist.
On the other hand:
_In 1976, the FTC ordered the Simeon Management Corporation, Simeon Weight Clinics Foundation, Bariatrics Management Corporation, C.M. Norcal, Inc., and HCG Weight Clinics Foundation and their officers to stop claiming that their HCG-based programs were safe, effective, and/or approved by the FDA for weight-control. Although the order did not stop the clinics from using HCG, it required that patients who contract for the treatment be informed in writing that:
THESE WEIGHT REDUCTION TREATMENTS INCLUDE THE INJECTION OF HCG, A DRUG WHICH HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED BY THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION AS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE IN THE TREATMENT OF OBSITY OR WEIGHT CONTROL. THERE IS NO SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE THAT HCG INCREASES WEIGHT LOSS BEYOND THAT RESULTING FROM CALORIC RESTRICTION, THAT IT CAUSES A MORE ATTRACTIVE OR “NORMAL” DISTRIBUTION OF FAT, OR THAT IT DECREASES THE HUNGER AND DISCOMFORT ASSOCIATED WITH CALORIE-RESTRICTIVE DIETS [15].
Since 1975, the FDA has required labeling and advertising of HCG to state:
HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets._
