Autoimmune Diseases Run in Packs 15 June 2010
A study published in the February 2010 edition of the American Journal of Medicine has shown that people with autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland have a high risk of developing autoimmune diseases of other organs.
Take home message: Autoimmune diseases are reaching epidemic proportions. They are caused by the immune system attacking its own organs. This does not happen by chance. It is the opinion of many that this is a case of “friendly fire” precipitated by chronic infections and toxins in the body. This study adds weight to this concept because it shows if one autoimmune disease occurs, there is a high risk of another one occurring. Keep your pathogen and toxin load as low as possible. Have fun while you are doing it though!
